Solana Phone Sales Skyrocketed!

Launched on May 8, the phone provided new owners with a 30 million meme coin airdrop. The recent price increase of the token appears to present an attractive arbitrage opportunity for buyers.

Solana's co-founder, Raj Gokal, mentioned in a Twitter post on December 15, 'Solana phone sales have increased more than 10x in the last 48 hours and seems to be selling out before the new year.

At current prices, the 30 million BONK airdrop is surprisingly valued at $877, which is $278 more than the Saga phone's current $599 price tag. According to CoinGecko, Bonk has shown a significant increase of 1,100% in the last 30 days. With this price performance, Bonk has surpassed the market value of rival memecoin Pepe.

Following the increase in phone sales, Solana's co-founder Anatoly Yakavenko suggested raising the price of Saga, which was reduced from $999 to $599 in August.

After the increased interest from users, Solana Mobile announced that all future orders will be limited to one mobile device per household.

The frenzy of sales is seen as a turning point for the device, which has been struggling for a long time. Yakovenko, on December 5th, joined Laura Shin's Unchained Podcast, emphasizing the poor performance of the Saga phone and stating that he sees no indication that the device could sell a total of 50,000 units. He also confessed that he doesn't use Saga as his primary mobile device and prefers to use it as an 'NFT phone.

In conclusion, the reason for the sales is based on the fact that when the device reaches the user, the BONK token is still trading at levels close to the current prices. Memecoins are known for their rapid price changes and uncertain structures.
