Thai Crypto Investors Turn To Tarot Cards, Divine Signals To Predict Market

A Thai fortune teller once purportedly predicted when the crypto market would recover last year, claiming they were told by the god of the dead.

While factors like charts, fundamental analysis, and global economic data are among the many elements that influence the cryptocurrency market, some investors seek to understand the future of the crypto market through different sources such as astrology and tarot readings.

According to a report on Cointelegraph, a group of crypto investors in Thailand consult tarot readings to gain insights into the market's future.

In Thailand, an astrologer named Pimfah has 160,000 followers on Facebook. In this Facebook group, members send tarot cards to Pimfah, asking questions about the future of the crypto market.

Another individual, Ajarn Ton, has a YouTube channel with 26,000 subscribers and identifies as a fortune teller. Ton makes predictions about the crypto market using astrology and has prepared hundreds of videos on the subject.

Ton's recent focus has been on Terra Luna Classic (LUNC), a cryptocurrency from Terraform Labs, which experienced a significant drop in the past. The astrologer Ton claims that LUNC's value will increase by 50,000%, reaching $0.029. However, it's important to note that the current market value of LUNC is below $0.000055.

It's often challenging to claim that astrologers or fortune tellers make accurate predictions, but there are some who occasionally get it right. For example, another fortune teller named Mor Plai predicted a major crypto market crash in November during August 2022, and the FTX crash indeed occurred.

Those turning to methods like fortune-telling in the crypto world are not limited to the East alone. During the 2021 crypto bull market, American TikTok astrologer Maren Altman provided Bitcoin price predictions to millions of followers. Altman explained in an interview, "I grew up with astrology, following patterns and cycles. I was familiar with financial astrology, so applying it to cryptocurrencies made sense."

Another astrologer, Crypto Damus, mentioned that "Mars is aligning to form a sextile with [Bitcoin's] natal Mars in the next few days (while Mercury is in cazimi)," which is likely seen as a positive sign and a show of strength that will invigorate the market.

As the crypto world expands to a wider audience, it seems that astrologers and fortune tellers will continue to capture the interest of some investors alongside traditional financial indicators.
